the casino gambler was a professional
2008-05-04 | (Games - Card Games)

The master Casino Gambler. The professional casino risk taker can walk into a gambling casino and everyone acknowledges he is there. He is fancy in his own right only not too obvious and he does not appear to notice. The individual I'm describing here has been blessed with more fortune than any wagerer has ever experienced or merits. He generally heads to the crap shooting table only he never touches the dice himself.

If the table is calm when he arrives, his battle cry of "Let's get this party started up" will for certain lighten up the mood and lather everybody into a frenzy. His every twinge, turn over motion and apparent movement is watched over by the gambling casino. While he works the sportsbook, he can virtually move lines.

This is because he will jam a million bucks into seven or eight briefcases and send off his acquaintances hurrying throughout Las Vegas to invest the bets. Vegas acknowledges it, the cassinos recognise it only he is still able to circulate his money all across town undisputed. The hosts love the professional risk taker and whenever he is in complete "gambling mode" they'll gladly send an airplane to pick him up half way across the country or even half way across the world. He's the big shot that draws interest from additional gamblers and while he gambles, he will cost a gambling casino hundreds of thousands of bucks and perhaps even more than that. In ten years of knowing this gentleman's gentleman, I've merely seen him turn a loss once. I'm certain he has turned a loss more than that but I witnessed it onetime in spectacular fashion.

Although most normal gamblers would be reaching out for a noose at the outlook of losing so much revenue in such a scant space of time, he, on the other hand, didn't appear overly worried as he got on the airplane home. He simply patted his wife on the back and stated with a wilful grin: "this time I can not purchase you that oceanfront residence, but next time babe, you will own it". I met his wife that day and she disclosed to me the sting in the tail.

You see, there's never a "next time" with the professional risk taker, merely a more heavier wager or investment. He has never ceased to reap and relish the advantages of a mammoth win. Additional wagers merely get larger and the promises more profitable but in the end more remote. That's the life story of the genuine Gambling Man.

Everything You Need To Know About Making Easter Eggs
2008-03-23 | (Games - Outdoor)

Everything You Need To Know About Eastering Your Eggs - ConnieTalk
------------------------------------------------------------------

Since we're taking the day off tomorrow for Easter, we figured we'd take this time to give you all the information you need to know about Easter Eggs. Hard boiled eggs, deviled eggs, how long do you boil eggs, coloring Easter Eggs, dying eggs, yes we've been reading Google Trends today, etc., etc.

How to hard boil an egg: Place the raw, uncracked eggs in a nice, silver pot. Fill the pot with enough cold tap water to completely cover eggs with about 1 inch of water over them. Add plenty of salt to make the egg easy to peel later.

Bring to a rolling boil on high heat (very hot). Promptly cover the pot and turn off the heat (the retained heat in the water and pot will continue to gently cook the eggs without overcooking them and discoloring the yolks.

Dying and Coloring Easter Eggs: Your eggs have to be hard-boiled before you dye them. Otherwise...well, you should be the next Lucille Ball and get your own show. There are many ways to dye eggs and you can buy premade kits (please buy made in America, thanks!). But the traditional way to dye eggs is with white vinegar, cups, white hard-boiled eggs, paper towels, metal tongs, and liquid (or paste) food coloring.

Put out a cup or a bowl for each color, deep enough for some eggs to sit in. Have either an empty aper towel roll in sections - or just a regular egg carton out to dry the dyed eggs when you're done. Most grocery stores around this time of year sell egg crayons, so that you can draw on the eggs before dying them (the drawn part will resist the color from the wax). There are also stickers, transfers, and other decorations that can be applied to the eggs (before or after dying, depending on the decoration).

If you have dye tablets, stir them into a cup or bowl with one cup of hot water until the dye table has dissolved; then add 1/4 cup of white vinegar. Repeat this for each color. Once you have your cups of colors ready, apply any pre-dye decorations for the egg, and then place each egg caaaaaaaaaaaarefully into the bowls or cups using a tongs.

When finished, place the dyed eggs on either the empty cardboard paper towel roll sections (with real paper towels or rags underneath) or back into the egg cartons, in such a way that the egg is touching the object as little as possible, to maintain the consistency of the dye.

It will drip. Be ready for that.

Deviling an Egg: That's not a word, I don't think, but here are three great recipes for deviled eggs: Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs; Special Deviled Eggs; Spinach Deviled Eggs; Classic Deviled Eggs.

Interesting fact of the day: Did you know that a "virtual Easter Egg" actually refers to an intentionally hidden message in an object like a movie, book, CD, DVD, computer program video game, etc? Subliminal messages created for artistic touch - at any time of the year - are called Virtual Easter Eggs.

PS 2 Fall 2007 game line up
2007-06-23 | (Games - Playstation)

The Playstation 2 isn't dead yet! There are two particularly interesting games that I am looking forward to seeing this fall: Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix.

Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 will boast more characters and better gameplay that than last year's model of this franchise.

Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix will include the original Kingdom Hearts II with some added levels and enemies. Also included will be a 3-D version of Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories! This is great for those of us who don't own the gameboy advance.

An insider look at Spore
2007-01-24 | (Games - PC)

The game I look forward to most in 07 is almost here, and somehow I got my paws on a demo version of it. Thats right I've played some of Spore. I also got a look at almost everything that will be involved. So let's dive in and take a look at Spore. Spore is a game that has never been seen before. A game where you create your own creatures and organisms. Will Wright, the games creator, has said himself that there are "Unlimited possibilites" in the game. There will be a range of stages from the "Tide pool phase" to the "Space phase". The game itself has no real ending and your species will never be wiped away. The Tidal Pool Phase. The start of the game. In the Tidal Pool Phase you start out by creating a microbe. You will take control of it in the game. When you enter gameplay you start out eating other, weaker cells. There are at least three other types of cells, two of which can eat the player's microbe to begin with. Once the microbe has eaten several cells, it lays an egg which, when clicked, opens the creature editor which allows the player to modify the appearance, shape, and abilities of the microbe. This includes adding offensive abilities. These will enable your microbe to attack its predators. When your microbe grows to a certin size you will begin creature mode. The Creature Phase While the tide pool phase introduces the player to the game and its editor, the creature phase plays a big part in terms of what the player's creatures will look like in the later phases. It is similar to the tide pool phase, but there are several important differences. The most obvious one is that it is a 3D environment. There will be other creatures inhabiting the world and most, if not all, of them will have been created by other players. If there is a lack of predators in the ecosystem and weak herbivores are everywhere, the game will download a new race of predators that another player has created and load them into the current player's world, all of this based by the computer on what the enviornment needs to keep balanced. Cool huh? The creature phase begins under water. The appearance of the player's creature is based on the microbe the player created in the tide pool phase. The basic goal is the same: Hunt food to earn DNA points, reproduce, and avoid being eaten by predators. Unlike the asexual reproduction in the tide pool phase, the player must now locate a mate. Once the player's creature has laid an egg, it does not hatch straight away; scavengers will attempt to steal the eggs and the player must defend them. Before the egg hatches, the player will have the opportunity to 'evolve' their creature further into the next generation, which can be done using DNA points. When the egg hatches, the player becomes a baby version of the creature that spawned it. Obviously this version of the creature will be smaller and have a voice of a higher pitch. It will also be somewhat weaker than adult creatures until it grows. Once the player's creature evolves in the creature phase, the fins may (optionally) be replaced by legs and feet, provided the player has collected sufficient DNA points, which allows the creature to move onto land. Will Wright has said many times that you can build any type of creature; the possibilities are endless. The ultimate goal of the creature phase is to increase the creature's brain capabilities slowly using DNA points. Once they have increased sufficiently, the player's creature becomes sapient and the player progresses to the tribal phase. The Tribal phase After the player's species evolves its brain capacity far enough, they enter the tribal phase. At this stage physical development is ceased, but the player is given a hut and several of the creatures designed in earlier phases. The player may give tools such as weapons, musical instruments, and other technologies.

Google

The creatures' behavior and collective personality is affected by what tools the player decides to give them. At this point, contact with other tribes can take place, should the player choose to (whether contact is cooperative or hostile). Once the tribe's hut has been upgraded to a high enough level, the player will progress to the city phase. The City Phase Will Wright has said that this will basicly be a "simplified version of Sim City" As in the creature phase, the game will attempt to detect what style of content the player prefers, download similar content created by other players and add it to the buy menu. No clear goals for this phase have been revealed, but it appears that once a player develops a large enough city, and spreads out across the globe, the game will advance further. The Civilization Phase In this phase players focus on relations between their civilization and other civilizations on their home planet, whether it is peace or war. The 'Civilization Phase' is where a player will suposedly start seeing the results of their influence on the budding species. Players can still access the building editor and buy new buildings, and once players reach this point they are allowed to zoom out further for the first time, and view the entire planet from space. Once the player zooms out past a certain point, the realistically detailed features of the planet become more stylized. For example, the cities of the planet change from a properly-scaled view with all individual buildings visible to a more stylized depiction. At this point, a vehicle editor is also opened, allowing the player to construct a large variety of land vehicles, aircraft, boats, and submarines. In their last issue PCGamer showed this editor off. The goal in this phase is to gain control of the entire planet. It's up to left the player to decide whether to conquer by warfare or diplomacy. Once players have gained enough credits in this phase they unlock the UFO and the UFO editor, and can proceed into the Space Phase. The Space Phase After the civilization phase, the space phase, or 'sandbox mode', begins. At this stage the player controls a vehicle (known as the UFO) capable of traveling throughout their local star system (and after obtaining better engines, other star systems within the galaxy) and visiting other planets. This ability presents the player with multiple options. Some of these include terraforming and colonizing uninhabitable planets with special tools that are purchased with credits, the player may travel between star systems and make contact with other civilizations on distant worlds, most of which are created by other players. Interactions revealed so far include impressing civilizations with fireworks, attacking them with weapons, or trying to establish a language with the civilization. These civilizations may react violently to the player or worship them, depending on that civilization's behavior and the race's personality. There are other things to do as well. I hope that you enjoy my preview of Spore, and look forward to my review of it once it is released. Peace out!

PS3 Confirmed Delay
2006-03-16 | (Games - Playstation)

Sony on Wednesday confirmed that it's pushing back the worldwide release date for the game console to early November. The company cited delays in finalizing copyright-protection specifications in the Blu-ray standard, which will be the underlying high-definition DVD format for the PS3.

The PS3 had been scheduled to debut this spring. The company is aiming to release the console simultaneously in the U.S., Europe and Japan.

Rival Microsoft launched its next-generation Xbox 360 device in November 2005. The PS3 postponement would be a second black mark for Sony, which also faces much higher component costs.

So it is confirmed that PS3 will be delayed, caused by the Blue-ray standard. But i guess that is a worthy wait since that could be one of the main factor people chooses PS3 over Xbox 360. Releasing in November means it is just in time for the holiday shopping spree and it will be a year after Xbox 360 launch. There are still no confirm information on the pricing although many had talked about the higher component costs. There are estimates that PS3 will be selling between USD 725 to USD 905, that is a significant jump from the PS2 console and is even higher compare to the USD 500+ Xbox 360 system. The higher cost mainly due to the Blu-ray DVD format which cost USD 200 - USD 300 more per console.

NFS Most Wanted - Bounty at Bus Station
2006-03-12 | (Games - Playstation)

Yes.. I am back to Need for Speed Most Wanted after finishing Onimusha. Currently I am at Blacklist #2 and the bounty needed gets harder to earn. I was checking on the net about any tips on getting the bounty points and most of the results returned from Google pointing to the bus station "glitches". So here is my version of the explanation.

Photo Display: NFS-Map
NFS-Map

The location of the bus station is as shown on the map. It is located at the center of Most Wanted world and there is a donut shop nears it. Once you reached the bus station, go to the back of it and crash into the building.

Photo Display: NFS
NFS

Take the left ramp seen on the picture, turn right once you reach the level and then turn left towards the extented ramp. Go to the very end of the ramp so that the police at the bottom notices you. The cops will keep crashing into each other and thats how you raise your bounty. To get free of the chase, come back from the extended ramp and stay in between the two rising ramp. Make sure there are no cops comming up to the ramp.
