A video hosting service, also known as video sharing service allows individuals to upload video clips to an Internet website.
The video host will then store the video on its server, and show the individual different types of code to allow others to view this video. Because many users do not have personal web space, either as a paid service, or through an ISP offering, video hosting services are becoming increasingly popular, especially with the explosion in popularity of blogs, forums, and other interactive pages. The website, mainly used as the video hosting service, is usually called the video sharing website.
Since the world is fast becoming a global village, the popularity of various or video sharing services has hit the roof top.
To begin with, YouTube has become such a rage among different sections of the crowd. The reason for its popularity can be attributed to the ability to upload videos as and when required.
YouTube’s popularity has led to the creation of many YouTube Internet celebrities, popular individuals who have attracted much publicity in their home countries (and sometimes across the world) due to their videos.
Seeing the rising popularity among different sections of the crowd, these sites have started to conduct contests for the best video clips hosted in their site in the respective categories. These type of Video clip contests organized by these sites has thrown open the door for many aspiring film-makers to exhibit their talent and compete with the elite.
Online video sharing sites allow anyone connected to the web to easily upload digital video recordings so that these clips can be viewed by other people. Online video sharing sites have become a high in-demand online type of service because they allow small independent publishers the ability to publish video files of almost any size without problems.
Normally, bloggers and other small independent publishers have only a limited amount of space on their web service provider server to upload additional files to be published on their web site. While this space maybe quite extensive for publishing hundreds of photos or audio files in mp3 format, video files can easily inflate to be several tens of megabytes each, if not hundreds, depending on video quality and length.
Video Popularity competition has gained terrific response as the number of persons using video sharing sites have multiplied tremendously over the last few years.
Let us see the Purpose of Video Hosting Service

April 16: Ali Vincent, who shed 112 pounds to become the first-ever female winner of weight-loss competition "The Biggest Loser," visits TODAY with trainer Jillian Michaels to share her inspiring story.
Ali Vincent reveals a new formula to the world, after winning season five of NBC's “The Biggest Loser†on Tuesday night. The hairdresser from Mesa, Ariz., lost more than half her body weight, but gained a whole new perspective on life.
Vincent, 32, started the show tipping the scales at 234 pounds and ended it weighing 122 pounds. Although her overall weight loss of 112 pounds was less than second-place Roger Schultz (164 pounds), “The Biggest Loser†winner is determined by weight-loss percentage.

Vincent, however, remained undaunted.

Report links Travis Ford to Oklahoma State - SI.com
---------------------------------------------------
STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma State had no announcement planned Wednesday amid conflicting reports that Massachusetts' Travis Ford was expected to take the job as the Cowboys' basketball coach.
Spokesman Mike Noteware said Oklahoma State had no plans for a news conference despite a report from ESPN that had unnamed sources indicating that Ford intended to meet with his players at UMass in the afternoon regarding the position in Stillwater.
"Right now, he's still here, still our coach at UMass," Massachusetts assistant athletic director Jason Yellin said.
Ford, 38, turned down a job offer from Big East school Providence and had also previously been linked to an opening at LSU that was eventually filled when Trent Johnson left Stanford to take it. UMass athletic director John McCutcheon announced last week that Ford intended to stay with the Minutemen, but he did not discuss terms of Ford's new contract.
A former player at Kentucky, Ford led UMass to a 25-11 record this season and an appearance in the NIT championship game, where it lost to Ohio State. He is 62-35 in three seasons at Massachusetts.
Ford previously took over a losing program at Eastern Kentucky and guided it to its first NCAA tournament appearance in 26 years.
Kansas coach Bill Self turned down the Cowboys last week, instead signing an extension to remain with the national champion Jayhawks.

Ex-Newark mayor and mistress convicted in corruption trial - The Associated Press
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — A federal jury convicted ex-Mayor Sharpe James and his former mistress Wednesday of corruption stemming from the cut-rate sale of city land.
James was found guilty on all five charges he faced, including fraud and conspiracy. Under federal guidelines, he could face seven to eight years in prison, but a judge could impose as much as 20 years on some individual counts. James could also be stripped of pensions that provide a six-figure annual income.
His ex-girlfriend, Tamika Riley, was convicted on the same five charges and eight others, including evading taxes and cheating to obtain subsidized housing assistance for herself. She faces a similar possible sentence.
Neither James nor Riley showed any emotion as the verdicts were read. The two and their lawyers declined comment afterward.
"Sharpe James used the power of his office for his own self-gratification," U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Christie said outside court.
State Attorney General Anne Milgram, whose office investigated and prosecuted the case with federal authorities, said the verdict showed the jury rejected "the cancerous form of government that Sharpe James presided over."
The jury deliberated about 30 hours over six days at a courthouse just a block from City Hall, where James led New Jersey's largest city for 20 years until 2006. Riley, 39, was a publicist who once ran a clothing boutique in the same neighborhood.
Prosecutors charged that the 72-year-old James, who was also a Democratic state senator from 1999 to January 2008, abused his office as mayor and betrayed his constituents by arranging for the sale of nine city-owned properties for $46,000 to Riley from 2001 to 2005. Riley quickly sold them for $665,000 without ever starting required rehabilitation work on most of them, prosecutors said.
James' attorneys argued that no evidence showed that the mayor assisted Riley or even had knowledge of her transactions, and that the mayor's interest in redeveloping the struggling city was well within the scope of his duties.
They stressed that the Newark City Council, not the mayor, had final approval over the land prices and sales. James' team presented only two witnesses, both members of the council, who said James never tried to influence their decisions.
Riley lawyer Gerald Krovatin blamed her real estate lawyers for failing to protect her from missteps in the land deals. He said she got no special treatment because of her affair with James, a married man twice her age, and claimed she was swept up in the investigation of James only because of their "intimate" relationship.
Neither James nor Riley testified during the trial, which had five weeks of testimony from 40 witnesses.
Jurors got some sense of the power James wielded in the city and the state, and learned that he had a home on the Jersey shore and yachts — possessions that had long raised eyebrows around the state.
They did not hear about his last mayoral election, in 2002, when he defeated the current mayor, Cory A. Booker, in a bitter campaign chronicled in the Oscar-nominated documentary film "Street Fight."
James is one of the most powerful figures snared in a federal corruption probe and one of the few to plead not guilty. He still faces a federal trial on charges he used city-issued credit cards to pay for $58,000 worth of personal expenses while he was mayor, including trips with several women other than his wife, to Martha's Vineyard, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Rio de Janeiro.

"I am a whole new woman," Vincent told the Today Show's Lester Holt on Wednesday. "There are no limits. There are absolutely no limits and I started to dream big again."

Tyler Perry Plans An Obama Film - Blogger News Network
------------------------------------------------------
Posted on April 13th, 2008 by Tamika M. Murray in All News, Celebrity News, Coming soon, Country News, Entertainment, State News, US PoliticsRead 155 times.
Tyler Perry, director, writer, and star of such films as Meet the Browns, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, and Why Did I Get Married has set his sight on the life and love of Democratic Presidential hopeful, Barack Obama.
If anyone can get a movie made based on Obama's romance with his wife, it's Perry. The Tyler Perry brand seems unstoppable. To date, his films, which are distributed by Lionsgate—Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Madea's Family Reunion, Daddy's Little Girls and Why Did I Get Married?—have grossed more than $200 million, according to Black Enterprise.com.
Perry dreams of casting Denzel Washington and Angela Bassett in the lead roles.
Signing Washington as the lead may be a challenge due to his $20 million per picture price and Perry's modest $5 million to $15 million production range.
Perry's audience appears to have an inherent loyalty to his work, fostered and nurtured by his years of successful urban stage productions and DVD distribution.
If done well, presidential politics onscreen can be not only informative, but alluring entertainment. Campaign issues, particularly race and politics, possess enormous drama and suspense.
Whether or not Obama captures the Oval Office and becomes America's first official black president is in the hands of the electorate.
What is clear is that a well done film will definitely give the public a more intimate view of the Obama family.
